Tesla Detailing: A Care Checklist Before Your Appointment

Prepare a Tesla detailing request with model-specific seat, screen, wash-mode, and film information. Get a clear scope before a Dallas or DFW appointment.

Before a Tesla detail, identify the model, year, seat material, and any installed wrap or paint protection film. Share the current owner’s manual and agree on cleaning products, screen handling, vehicle access, and the work location. A model-specific plan is more useful than booking a generic “luxury detail.”

Begin with the model and the surface

A request for “Tesla detailing” leaves several important questions open. Which model and year? What seat material is fitted? Does the car have original paint, a color-change wrap, or protection film? Has a coating been applied? Include those details before asking about a package.

Photograph the specific marks you want addressed rather than sending only an exterior view of the car. For a seat concern, show both the affected area and the surrounding surface. For paint or film, identify the panel and describe previous treatment if known.

Seat, screen, and wash instructions are model-specific

Tesla’s Model 3 cleaning guidance describes mild soap and water for the covered vegan-leather seats and discourages other cleaners, conditioners, and protectants. It also explains Screen Clean Mode and Car Wash Mode. Read the current manual for your vehicle; software, equipment, and instructions can differ by model and year.

Have the provider identify which instructions apply before work begins. This guide does not authorize a particular product, pressure setting, or polishing process for your car. If the proposed treatment goes beyond the manufacturer’s routine-care instructions, ask for a clear explanation and compatibility evidence.

Write an interior scope that names the surfaces

“Interior detail” can mean different work from one provider to another. Ask the quote to specify seats, carpet, mats, glass, console, touchscreens, and trim. Identify optional work separately. If you want a particular seat mark assessed, make that the request rather than assuming every mark is covered by a package name.

Use our interior detailing service page to understand the general categories, then check the proposed method against your car’s instructions. Synthetic upholstery should not automatically receive the same products as a different vehicle’s natural leather seats.

Separate paint, coating, wrap, and film work

Provide any installer documentation you have. Ask which areas will be washed, inspected, or left for the installer to assess. If you are considering polishing, request an inspection of the actual surface and a written description of the intended work.

Our matte paint and wrap guide explains how to identify finishes before booking. For coating decisions, see questions to ask before ceramic coating. Neither a model name nor a package name establishes product compatibility.

Agree on access and responsibility

Decide how the technician will access the vehicle and who will operate the necessary settings. Do not post credentials, access codes, or private account information in a public request. Discuss what access is needed for the agreed scope and how it will end when the appointment is complete.

Walk through the vehicle together if possible. Identify existing damage, belongings to remove, and any areas you do not want treated. Confirm where the car will remain during the service and who will contact you if inspection changes the proposed work.

For mobile detailing, check the location separately

Tell the provider whether the car is in an open driveway, covered space, or shared garage. Ask about equipment, power, water, weather, and permission. A vehicle-specific care plan does not resolve a restricted work location. The Dallas apartment detailing checklist covers those arrangements.

Send a request that can be reviewed

Include model and year, city and ZIP, seat color and material if known, paint or film information, photographs of the concern, the desired service, and any previous treatment. Ask the provider to confirm the care instructions, product compatibility, inclusions, and exclusions before scheduling.

If your priority is the cabin, request an interior assessment. If it is exterior contamination or paint appearance, describe that separately. SJ Dallas Auto Detailing is a quote referral service; provider availability, Tesla-specific experience, and acceptance of your requested work are confirmed after review.
